How District 2 candidates answer questions on public education: Tom Terwilliger, challenger for District 2
The current commission says it has no role in education, yet the city pays over $500,000 for school crossing guards, has paid for a preschool and donates to school sports. Pompano has six D-rated schools. This commission subsidized the golf course about $4.5 million for 298 members just this year. What about the thousands of Pompano children? Parents will not buy Pompano homes where children receive substandard education; this drives down Pompano housing prices. Like it or not, we must get involved.
